Are you an experienced Databricks Data Engineer looking to build enterprise-scale data solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes? We are seeking two highly skilled Systems Analyst III professionals to design, develop, and optimize modern data platforms supporting large-scale analytics, reporting, and decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex data engineering initiatives utilizing Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and modern Lakehouse architecture within a collaborative enterprise environment.

What You'll Do
As a Systems Analyst III, you will design and implement scalable data engineering solutions while partnering with business and technical teams to deliver high-quality analytics platforms.

Responsibilities include:

Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data solutions using Databricks
Build and maintain scalable ETL and ELT data pipelines utilizing Apache Spark
Develop solutions using Python, PySpark, or Scala for large-scale data processing
Design and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers)
Develop and maintain Delta Lake and Lakehouse data solutions
Build and manage Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (formerly Delta Live Tables)
Create and schedule production workflows using Lakeflow Jobs or comparable orchestration tools
Develop robust dimensional data models, including star and snowflake schemas
Design Databricks SQL dashboards, Databricks Apps, and reporting solutions
Implement data governance, security, quality, and validation frameworks
Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
Conduct system analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and solution evaluations
Optimize platform performance, scalability, operational monitoring, and cost efficiency
Present technical solutions and business insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle

Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess:

8+ years of experience supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of enterprise technology solutions
8+ years of experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
8+ years building and optimizing ETL and ELT data pipelines
8+ years of experience with SQL and Python or Scala
8+ years of experience designing enterprise data warehouses and dimensional data models
8+ years developing Databricks SQL Dashboards and Databricks Apps
8+ years implementing data governance, security, and data quality practices
8+ years of experience with Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture, and Lakehouse design
8+ years developing Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (Delta Live Tables)
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Lakeflow Jobs or Apache Airflow
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to independently analyze complex business requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within state government or public sector environments
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and DevOps practices for data engineering

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hybrid work environment combining onsite and remote work
Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required based on project needs

Contract Details

Contract dates: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027
Approximately 2,008 hours
Opportunity for contract extension based on project needs
Overtime requires prior approval
