Job Description: Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Java EE Developer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade applications. This role will involve analyzing legacy systems, supporting modernization efforts, and helping migrate applications to cloud-native platforms while ensuring modularity, security, and interoperability. Key Responsibilities Analyze legacy Java EE components (EJB, JPA, SOAP services) to support architectural decision-making. Participate in application rationalization and modernization planning. Document current application behavior, dependencies, and integration points. Collaborate with architects and business analysts to retain core business logic during modernization. Support migration of legacy systems to cloud-native platforms with a focus on microservices and APIs. Utilize AI code analysis tools to examine legacy Java EE applications. Extract and document business requirements and rules from existing code. Validate and refine requirements with stakeholders and technical teams. Identify and record technical debt, design patterns, and architectural details within legacy systems. Minimum Qualifications 12+ years of hands-on Java and Java EE development (EJB, JPA, SOAP). 12+ years of experience with Java SE 1.8 / Java EE 8 and enterprise-grade application servers. 12+ years working with ORM and persistence integration. 10+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams (architects, Client, security engineers). 8+ years experience with AI code analysis tools (static analysis, pattern recognition). 8+ years knowledge of DevSecOps practices (automated testing, deployment, monitoring). 8+ years exposure to cloud-native transformation (containerization, scaling, loosely coupled interfaces). 8+ years working within Agile methodologies (sprint planning, backlog refinement). Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications 6+ years of strong communication and collaboration skills. 6+ years of experience with requirements elicitation and documentation. ***Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor.
