Senior Systems Analyst III - Snowflake Administrator

Location: Austin, TX 78751 (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate:$86.66 per hour
Duration: 12-Month Contract (09/01/2026 - 08/31/2027)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst III / Snowflake Administrator to support a major enterprise data modernization initiative for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Snowflake expert who enjoys building secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud data platforms that power enterprise analytics and AI solutions.

 

In this role, you will serve as the technical expert responsible for administering and optimizing the Snowflake environment while collaborating with data engineers, analysts, architects, and AI teams to deliver secure, cost-effective, and innovative data solutions.

 

What You'll Do

As a Senior Systems Analyst III, you will:

  • Administer and optimize the enterprise Snowflake platform across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain role-based access control (RBAC) and enterprise security policies.
  • Configure and support Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations using platforms such as Okta and SailPoint.
  • Enable and administer Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities, including AI functions, governance, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize data transformation pipelines using DBT.
  • Integrate Snowflake with OpenFlow or similar workflow orchestration tools to automate enterprise data processes.
  • Monitor warehouse utilization, query performance, storage consumption, and overall platform costs.
  • Implement enterprise security controls, including encryption, dynamic data masking, auditing, and compliance monitoring.
  • Develop automation scripts for user provisioning, platform monitoring, maintenance, and operational support.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, architects, and AI teams to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Participate in system planning, troubleshooting, capacity management, and platform optimization efforts.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance scalability, security, automation, and overall platform performance.

 

Required Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience administering the Snowflake platform in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and enterprise data governance.
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with Single Sign-On (SSO) platforms such as Okta or SailPoint.
  • Experience enabling and supporting Snowflake Cortex AI features.
  • Strong experience designing and managing Snowflake roles, privileges, and enterprise user provisioning.
  • Experience building and supporting data pipelines using DBT.
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with OpenFlow or comparable workflow orchestration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, query optimization, warehouse tuning, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience implementing security controls including encryption, masking policies, auditing, and compliance monitoring.
  • Experience developing automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and system administration.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:

  • DevOps and CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud data platforms.
  • Workflow orchestration and enterprise automation tools.
  • Public sector, healthcare, or highly regulated environments.
  • Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Cloud data architecture and modern analytics platforms.
  • Performance optimization and cloud cost management strategies.
