Job Summary


The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, operating systems, and software applications. This role ensures the availability, efficiency, and security of critical systems and services while providing technical support and collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet organizational needs.


Essential Functions


+ Installs, configures, and maintains operating systems, software applications, and system upgrades while evaluating and applying patches to ensure optimal performance and security.

+ Performs regular system backups and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

+ Monitors and manages system configurations, data files, and hardware resources to ensure system stability and data integrity.

+ Troubleshoots and resolves software, hardware, and network-related issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.

+ Creates and maintains detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes to support efficient operations and compliance.

+ Provides technical support to users by offering guidance and instructions on the proper use of IT systems and equipment.

+ Tracks and prioritizes work orders and support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with users and stakeholders.

+ Maintains effective communication with peers, staff, leadership, and external vendors, establishing collaborative relationships to address system issues and upgrades.

+ Interfaces with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system or hardware-related problems, ensuring seamless operation and timely updates.

+ Provides after-hours and on-call support as required, ensuring critical systems remain operational and any emergencies are promptly addressed.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Complies with all policies and standards.


Qualifications


+ Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred

+ 2-4 years of experience working with personal computers or computer hardware required

+ 1-2 years of experience in system administration, including working with servers, networks, and software applications preferred or

+ 1-2 years of experience with server setup and maintenance (Windows, Linux), network management, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (AWS, Azure) preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


+ Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, VLANs, and network routing.

+ Working knowledge with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.

+ Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for managing virtual machines, storage, and databases.

+ Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automating routine task.

+ Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, often under tight deadlines.

+ Ability to manage security and compliance systems.

+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.

+ Effective communication skills to interact with users, peers, leadership, and vendors.

+ Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Licenses and Certifications


+ CompTIA A+ Certification preferred

Established from the roots of Inland Empire Community Health Center in Bloomington, CHSI has grown with community health centers in the counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego.
