Job Summary

The Systems Administrator will manage and tune in-house computer systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. Participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Manage and maintain in-house computer systems, servers, network connections, and related hardware/software to ensure availability, security, and performance of business applications.

Install, configure, monitor, and administer systems, applications, and devices (e.g., printers, scanners) while supporting upgrades, patches, and preventative maintenance.

Administer end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights; provide service desk and technical support; and coordinate vendor service calls when needed.

Perform system backups, restores, and security audits; analyze performance; and maintain reports on downtime, metrics, and system health.

Support application development teams and system integration testing; participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and long-term strategic IT initiatives.

Collaborate with end-users and technical staff to implement policies, procedures, and best practices that align with company goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in business administration, management information systems, mathematics, information technology, or computer sciences and 2+ years of relevant experience

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment

Ability to successfully interact with other IT professionals and end-users

Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

Is open and responsive to change and demonstrates a commitment to the process of continuous improvement by identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers
