About the Agency
The Mississippi State Oil and Gas Board is a regulatory agency that regulates the drilling of oil and gas wells in the state, as well as Class II wells. Its mission is to foster, encourage, and promote the development, production, and utilization of oil and gas natural resources in the state, and to ensure that the health and safety of its citizens are protected by ensuring all wells are operated and maintained in compliance with the conservation statutes of the state and the rules and regulations of the Board.
About the Position
This position will apply their experience in the field of systems administration and multi-platform hardware and software operating systems to provide a full range of system administration functions. They will configure and monitor the performance of mid-range servers, as well as update and maintain documentation on the assigned servers. Will perform backups and recoveries as required, make recommendations for and implement enhancements. Provide a full range of on-site and remote end-user support, as well as technical support to clients.
What youll need to be Successful
The ability to independently handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Thorough knowledge of systems administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2-4+ years of IT experience with emphasis in system administration. - Agency Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree and two (2) to four (4) years of IT experience.
