GENERAL DESCRIPTION - The System Specialist II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, analysis, troubleshooting and repair of computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, and VoIP phones. Installs, documents, maintains, upgrades and replaces hardware and software as needed. DUTIES - Provide Help Desk support to diagnose and resolve local and remote user issues, including hardware, software, and network problems. - Troubleshoot local and remote issues, including network connectivity, VPN configuration, and hardware/software malfunctions using remote tools. - Provide audio-visual support for meetings, events, and other requirements. - Collaborate with IT staff to consistently apply and enforce corporate IT policies and procedures. - Manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, including password resets. - Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, including developing system images and setting up new devices. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot network cabling, switches, access points, VoIP phones, and peripheral devices. - Deliver user training to improve technology adoption and compliance. - Document technical procedures and maintain an organized IT storage and server environment. - Assist in upgrading and optimizing IT systems for enhanced performance. - Handle escalations and perform after-hours support for critical issues. - Report misuse of IT resources to the IT Director. - Perform preventive maintenance procedures to ensure quality performance and detect early warning signals. - Provide regular education to ensure policies/procedures are understood. - Carry out complex assignments requiring the development of new techniques and procedures. - This position does not support a remote work environment and requires work to be completed onsite. - Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - Associate's degree or 3 years of on the job IT experience in lieu of degree - Experience supporting Windows systems, and all MS Office products within a large corporate environment - Excellent customer support and written/verbal skills - Ability to grasp advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts and creatively solve problems to meet customer needs - Advanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer, networking, software systems and related technologies - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively. Must possess the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel - Some after hours and weekend work will be required. - We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.
