Job Title: System Manuals Supervisor
Location: Mathews, LA
Position Overview: A System Manuals Supervisor coordinates and oversees the daily tasks and functions of the Technical Writing personnel within the facility. The System Manuals Supervisor is responsible for allocating resources and monitoring job progress to meet contractual requirements, scheduling and budget targets while providing weekly/monthly status reports to management and cultivating a supportive positive team environment for all subordinates.
Key Responsibilities:
· WorkcloselywithGroupManagers,Supervisors,andLeadsintheareasofdevelopment,expediting,product distribution, implementation, and submittals while ensuring contractual compliance.
· GeneralknowledgeofcontractrequirementsandlogisticsspecificationsfortheSystemManualDeliverables.
· Reviewrequestsforquotation,governmentsolicitations,contracts,militaryspecifications,andpurchaseorders supporting the Technical Data and Reliability Manager and Logistics Program Managers.
· OverseesdevelopmentofallTechnicalWritingdeliverables.
· Performsdutiestodevelopandperformqualityreviewsofeachdeliverablepriortosubmittingtocustomers.
· Ensurethatfilesaremaintained,organizedandupdatedforallcontractsandrequests,andensurethatdeadlines are met for all contracts.
· Communicateswithcustomers,vendorsandmanagement.
· Trainssubordinates on all departmental processes and procedures.
· Coordinateemployeeschedules,progress,reviewtimesheets,handlevariouspersonnelissuesandannual employee evaluations.
· Researches,developsandimprovesprocessesthatdriveefficiencyandaddvaluetotheCompany.
· MustfollowallCompanypoliciesandprocedures,includingthoserelativetoemployeesafety,environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system.
· OtherdutiesassignedorrequestedbyManagement.
· Executesbudgets/schedules/metricspertainingtoTechnicalWritingandTraining deliverables.
· Provideinputonannualdepartmentalbudgetandmonthlyprogressasitrelatestotheproposedbudget.
· Willberequiredtotraveltoattendmeetingsanddiscusscurrent/potentialbusinessopportunitieswithcustomers.
· Coordinatespersonnelandresourcestomeetbudgetrequirementsandmeetorexceedcustomerexpectations/ schedule deadlines.
· Researches,developsandimprovesprocessesthatdriveefficiencyandaddvaluetotheCompany.
· ResponsibleforreviewingandmonitoringISO9001QualityProceduresfortheSystemManualDepartment.
Qualifications:
· One(1)tothree(3)yearsoftechnicalwritingorrelatedexperienceand a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience required.
· Bachelor’sdegreeinBusiness, TechnicalWriting or Military Leadership experience preferred.
· AdvancedknowledgeofArbortextEditor,AdobeAcrobat,S1000D,andSGML/XML preferred.
· Knowledge ofwatercraft vessels andsystems/equipment.
· GeneralunderstandingofallintegratedILSdepartmentprocesses or product supportability experience.
Skills and Abilities:
· Advancedknowledgeofcomputersoftware,i.e.,MicrosoftWord,Excel,Access,etc.andinternetapplications.
· Organizationalskillsandabilitytomulti-taskinafast-pacedenvironment.
· Strong problem-solving,analyticalskills,andcommunicationskills.
· Provenabilityasateamleader.
