In collaboration with the system and sub-system table, the System Family Manager (SFM) is responsible for system Timing & Cost, working with the Cost Manager for Total Production Costs and Program Spending.
Accountable for:
Work, with the respective Chief (system or sub-system) to coordinate the cross functional team (System Table / Sub-System Table)
Lead, with the chief, the propulsion system development process (PSDP) governance and reporting (milestone reviews/program reviews/weekly meetings and updates)
Manage timing and readiness for the assigned propulsion system perimeter, ensuring consistency between System and Sub-System and the complete Application Plan
Manage the core initiatives preparation and core studies response:
Work with the PRS engineering functions, Planning and VEMO to prepare ER&D budget convergence for milestone approval.
Follow the PRS governance for approval (PRS governance approval/GPCx)
Under Cost Manager responsibility manage product cost and program budget during execution: Total product cost (TPC), ER&D spending
Capital expenditure (CAPEX). If the Project does not have a dedicated Cost Manager, the responsibility remains with the Family Manager
Drive, with the sub-system family managers, industrial synergies between conventional & hybrid variants
On behalf of system chief, manage component change management of PRS.
Cost & timing roll-up associated with global communications for system and Program related investigation
Significant support in:
Handshake with Propulsion Systems Sub-System Technical Managers (SSTM) on Vehicle Application activities, Technical Functional Requirements, etc
Review of Actions & Funding for Quality & Value Optimization
Manufacturing Readiness, production capacity investigations, Creation of Commercial & Development Contracts with Suppliers, Product Strategy & Roadmaps
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics at a nationally accredited institution/university.
At least 7 years experience in above disciplines, preferably in automotive product engineering
Project management and planning skills, ability to lead Cross functional work groups, meetings and task forces
Good analytical skills and open and curious interdisciplinary mindset
Good communication and presentation skills, verbally and in writing
Fluent or Advanced English
