The State of Michigan (SOM) Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) Agency Services MDOT team is seeking to hire a Web Accessibility Analyst to conduct reviews for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications, which include standards for branding and digital accessibility. The contract has potential to extend beyond 2 years based upon SOM’s needs
Job Duties
- Conduct reviews of SOM websites and applications and documents for adherence with the SOM Digital Standards for Websites and Applications
- Test for digital accessibility using manual and automated tools including screen reader and other assistive technology
- Review for adherence with additional standards including branding
- Perform testing on desktop and mobile devices
- Thoroughly document review results
- Provide results to application support teams and stakeholders and meet with teams to explain results
- Work closely with eMichigan team members to ensure processes are followed and optimized
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
1+ years:
- Testing applications for digital accessibility
- Working with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Advanced knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
Advanced skills using assistive technologies like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBac
Desired Skills
3+ years:
- Testing applications for digital accessibility
Certification related to WCAG
Previous government experience
Minimum Education
Location
- Candidates MUST be local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within 90 miles) at time of submission. This requirement is non-negotiable
- Position is a hybrid schedule (non-negotiable): This position will require in-office work on Tuesday and Wednesday each week, with the ability to work remote Monday, Thursday and Friday. In office days are mandatory and cannot be altered. The resource must meet these requirement form the beginning.
- Working hours Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; We are unable to offer sponsorships at this time
- Must undergo a background check and drug screening for employment.
Employment Terms
- This is a W2 position
- 40 hrs per week
