$38 to $40 per hour contract with a conversion salary of $80 to $85K annually + bonus

Summary
We are looking for a mid-level Systems Administrator to help build and support a modern, cloud-first IT environment. This role will serve as an escalation point for Help Desk issues, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in bringing IT operations fully in-house.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership mindset, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Manage identity, access, and security configurations through admin portals
• Act as an escalation point for Help Desk tickets and complex technical issues
• Mentor and support Help Desk staff through coaching and technical guidance
• Support SaaS tools including Jira, Atlassian products, Zoom, and Slack
• Assist with endpoint management, policy enforcement, and device security
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure systems align with business needs
• Contribute to IT documentation, standards, and long-term infrastructure planning
• Help establish internal IT and security best practices as the organization scales

• 3+ years of Systems Administrator experience (not entry-level)
• Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Microsoft professional certifications
• Strong Windows administration experience
• Experience supporting SaaS applications and collaboration tools
• Basic proficiency in Linux system and scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
• Familiarity with Jira or Atlassian tools
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally and independently
• Proven ability to serve as an escalation point and technical resource

• CompTIA Security+ or Network+
• Linux administration experience
• Prior experience mentoring or leading junior IT staff (without direct management responsibility)
• Experience helping transition IT services from third-party providers to internal teams
