Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract with a client in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate with experience providing hands-on support for critical data center infrastructure, ensuring operational continuity, asset management, and hardware lifecycle activities.
Rate Range: $28/hour to $31/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
System Administrator Job Responsibilities include:
Provide hands-on support for data center infrastructure, including servers, network devices, storage equipment, firewalls, and backup systems.
Perform hardware installation, racking, cabling, labeling, troubleshooting, decommissioning, and equipment relocation activities.
Maintain accurate asset inventory records, track hardware movements, and coordinate device shipping, receiving, and storage processes.
Support network, security, server, and storage teams with infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, power cycling, and hardware replacement activities.
Monitor data center operations and ensure readiness of critical facilities infrastructure, including power systems, UPS, HVAC, and environmental controls.
Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to resolve incidents, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure timely completion of support requests and operational tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
8-10+ years of experience in Data Center Operations, Infrastructure Support, or IT Operations environments.
Strong hands-on experience supporting servers, networking equipment, storage systems, backup devices, and data center infrastructure operations.
Proven experience with asset management, hardware installations, cabling, troubleshooting, inventory control, and providing 24/7 operational support in mission-critical environments.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $31.00 per hour
