Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, and low-cost cloud platform that powers thousands of businesses in over 190 countries. AWS' Infrastructure & Supply Chain organization works to source, build, and maintain our socially responsible data center supply chains that keep these AWS customers running.

The Re:Cycle Reverse Logistics team offers worldwide data centers a centralized means to sort, function test, in-warranty return, and disposition server and networking components that break or are no longer needed in the supply chain. These warehouse operations and value-add services are governed by a warehouse management system that keeps everything on track. The team is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and self-driven System Administrator to support these global operations by maintaining this system"s configurations, ensuring that the system is consistently reflecting the state of business capabilities and the warehouse production floor. This role will be responsible for maintaining application user accounts, security, disposition, and warehouse configurations, application integrations, and data to meet security and business requirements. It will regularly audit the physical and logical production floor, and application metrics to proactively identify and escalate any material flow risks. It will drive initiatives to improve user in-application performance in feature adoption, process quality, and throughput. This scope will provide the opportunity to learn the depths of a complex reverse logistics warehouse management system, and to directly improve operations for 800+ global users.

Key job responsibilities

_Acting as operations point of contact to document, root cause, and resolve system and cross-service integration incidents.

_Maintaining system ticket queue and providing regular status updates to users and leaders tracking system incidents.

_Monitoring system KPIs, integration audit logs, and team metrics to identify and resolve security and operational risks from within the system.

_Collaborating with operation leaders, peers, and provider to drive continuous improvements for our users.

_Auditing system data, maintaining data hygiene and related reporting to keep us compliant to our commitment of zero data defects.

_Executing user acceptance test cycles for upcoming solutions and enhancements, documenting findings and holding a high bar for delivery against expectations.

_Advocating on behalf of the user by documenting problem statements, solutions, and impacts for design reviews and planning cycles.

Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
