Position Description:

Syndications Officer manages the process of distributing large agricultural loans to a network of investors by coordinating with various lenders to package and sell portions of loans, ensuring compliance with regulations. The Syndication Officer develops and maintains strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders within the agricultural finance market, acting as a key point of coordination between Farm Credit and institutional investors, facilitating information flow across deal teams and leveraging internal relationships to deliver competitive syndication outcomes. The Syndications Officer promotes the Bank's reputation, values, and mission through ethical and professional behavior.

Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deal execution: Manage the syndication process and timelines from launch to close.
  • Deal communication: Prepare and distribute investor and internal deal status updates on a regular cadence during the syndication process, ensuring origination and relationship teams have current visibility into deal progress.
  • Bank meetings and deal calls: Organize and participate in bank meetings and investor deal calls, responding to investor credit and structural questions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Investor outreach: Build and maintain relationships with Farm Credit System associations, commercial banks, insurance companies, and other qualified institutional investors to market and distribute syndicated loan packages.
  • Investor intelligence: Distill investor appetite, lending history, and credit preferences into actionable intelligence to support syndication strategy design and deal allocation decisions.
  • Market analysis: Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory developments, and the competitive landscape as they affect agricultural lending and syndication opportunities.
  • Pricing and allocation: Provide feedback on loan pricing and allocation based on credit risk profile and investor appetites
  • Documentation and compliance: Ensure all loan documentation adheres to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • CRM and investor platform management: Maintain and actively update the Bank's investor contact platform (e.g., CRM or equivalent) as a centralized repository of investor knowledge, deal history, and relationship context.
  • Secondary trading support: Support secondary loan trading activities by coordinating with the trading desk and maintaining awareness of secondary market pricing and investor interest.

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural economics, business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced training, certification, or a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in commercial lending, with expertise in capital markets and loan participations.

  • Knowledge of loan documentation, credit practices, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret credit reports and loan agreements to discern relevant facts.
