Center School District nurses and health aides work diligently to educate our school community and provide services and resources to promote an optimal level of wellness for learning.
The Health Services personnel of the Center School District includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Health Aides. Our multidisciplinary team provides services, resources and education to bridge the gap between health and wellness, and education and learning. They also provide the necessary professional expertise to access, identify, monitor and evaluate your student''s health needs.
At school, the Nurses and Health Aides:
Assess the health needs of students and staff and provide appropriate and timely referrals
Screen for vision, hearing, and health problems
Provide emergency first aid and works with the school community to identify safety hazards and recommend prevention programs
Are involved in communicable disease control through the implementation of immunization requirements
Provide health counseling for chronic illness, nutrition, disease prevention and healthy lifestyles
Serve as a resource for health related issues and health education
Act as providers of school health services, including clinic manager and case manager
