SUMMARY:
The John Dickinson School is looking to hire the following Coaching Position:
- Head Field Hockey Coach
- Head Girls' Indoor Track Coach
- Head Girls' Tennis Coach
- Head Middle School Girls' Basketball Coach
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior successful coaching experience (high school or above) preferred.
- Previous coordinator experience preferred.
- Multiple position coaching experiences preferred.
- Effectively communicate with all audiences.
- Academic integrity and a commitment to balance in the lives of student athletes.
ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT GOALS
- Increase the skills, strength, athleticism, knowledge of the rules, and game strategies of all student-athletes.
- Develop leadership, discipline, motivation, and commitment of all student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Develop the problem solving and decision-making of student-athletes through competition.
- Foster participation in the athletic program that results in lifelong fitness, a love of athletics, and involvement in multiple sports.
- Develop coaches who integrate best practices and advanced techniques in all phases of coaching.
- Provide and maintain high quality facilities that promote school and community pride.
- Provide the necessary resources for the athletic program through quality leadership and fiscal responsibility.
- Build individual, program, and community pride through achievement and teamwork.
- Exhibit sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity within all constituencies of the school community.
- Engage in service activities that generate unity between athletes, school, and community and provide a positive rallying point for school spirit.
- Strive to succeed at the highest level of competition in both the conference and state levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Directly responsible for all matters relative to soccer program including, but not limited to player personnel, practice sessions, care and maintenance of equipment, and supervision of players during practice, games, travel and other team functions.
- Be knowledgeable of and consistently enforce school, district, conference, and DIAA rules and policies.
- Effectively communicate with players, officials, fellow coaches, parents, administrators and community members.
- Ensure that the safety and welfare of the athletes is a top priority in the organization and implementation of practice and game situations.
- Present a professional image and provide a positive role model in terms of personal habits, language and conduct.
- Promptly and accurately submit all required paperwork.
- Work with faculty and staff to assist athletes in maintaining eligibility.
- Meets with parents and players to discuss philosophy of program and the responsibility of coaches and players.
- Promotes and practices positive sportsmanship.
