Position overview: The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division, Bureau All Kids is seeking to hire a motivated individual to serve as an Office Assistant. Under the direction of the Clerical Supervisor, this position performs a variety of office support functions and provides quality customer service as part of the Bureau of All Kids Switchboard staff. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs with the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Essential Functions Under general supervision, serves as a Switchboard Assistant in conducting a variety of difficult and responsible clerical activities relating to the control of All Kids applications Receives, screens and directs incoming telephone inquiries regarding All Kids/Family Care Programs Update files containing correspondence, reports, mail batches and case files Receives and responds to routine inquiries from the general public Updates statistics regarding telephone activity Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of relatedoffice experience Conditions of Employment Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop The conditions of employment listed here are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Headquarter Location: 201 S Grand Ave E, Springfield, Illinois, 62704 Work County: Sangamon Email: HFS.DMPApps@illinois.gov Posting Group: Office & Administrative Support
