Shape precision parts on advanced Swiss CNC equipment

Picture the start of your shift: programs are loaded, tooling is verified, and you bring a Swiss CNC lathe online to hold exacting tolerances. You interpret engineering drawings, dial in offsets as tools wear, verify dimensions with gauges, and keep operator-owned quality (OOQ) at the center of every decision. Throughout the day you document work to GMP/GDP standards, maintain 5S, and partner with your team to drive continuous improvement and on-time performance.

What you'll do

  • Set up and run CNC equipment to blueprint and program specs, holding tight tolerances on varied metals.
  • Tackle complex machining sequences and progressive operations requiring very close control.
  • Swap dull tools, apply minor offsets, and make wear adjustments to keep parts in spec.
  • Own product quality using measuring instruments and by interpreting results to OOQ standards.
  • Complete daily checks, perform routine maintenance, and follow the PM calendar.
  • Perform hand-finishing as needed to meet cosmetic and dimensional requirements.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP); accurately complete routers/cards.
  • Work safely—identify, communicate, and help resolve Safety, Health & Environmental concerns.
  • Meet productivity goals and recommend ideas that raise throughput and yield.
  • Log activities promptly in the job tracking system for full traceability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across processes and tooling.
  • Flag manufacturing issues to your Team Leader/Supervisor and assist in problem resolution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation that reflects 5S standards.
  • Take on other tasks or special projects as assigned by supervision.

What you bring

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Proficiency setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery; ability to run multiple machines.
  • Applied math skills and comfort with measurement, counts, and recording data.
  • Skill in planning and prioritizing work to meet competing deadlines.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and deliver consistent, on-time runs.
  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail for repeatable, high-quality output.
  • Team-oriented attitude, reliability, and clear communication (written and verbal).
  • Problem identification and escalation when needed; solid computer literacy.

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or completion of a machinist apprenticeship.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • GCSE/NVQ Math and English (UK only).
