Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing the production plan and coordinating process, people, and performance to achieve production quality and uptime standards on the shift.
  • Ensures shift is performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Assist with enforcing food safety program and procedures, GMP policy, and personnel hygiene policies.
  • Proper use, care, and documentation exists of equipment and materials issued to work area.
  • Supports in the efforts of onboarding, training, and reviewing
  • Develops a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
  • Organizes work for smooth operations, which includes maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
  • Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
  • Verifies that proper documentation is completed accurately, timely, and properly filed.
  • Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
  • Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the current processes.
  • All other duties as assigned and needed to support operations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Disciplined approach to safety, quality, delivery and costs.
  • Ability to read and interprete documents such as GMP guidance, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to learn and understand company information technology systems.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently, and 75+ pounds with assistance, on a daily basis.
  • Ability to lift, twist, crawl, reach, grab, bend, stoop, climb, or perform similar activities as needed and stand for long periods.

Work Conditions

  • Must wear personnel protective equipment as needed.
  • Subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
  • Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required.
  • Subject to atmospeheric conditions, such as fumes from the machines, odors, powders, dust, and other particles.
