Job Summary:
The Plumbing Service Technician will apply their technical skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential and light commercial environments and ensure that work is performed per relevant codes. Responsibilities include assembling, installing or repairing pipes, fittings, fixtures of heating, water, or drainage systems per plumbing code specifications.
Primary responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential homes, including pipes, drains, water heaters, and fixtures
Installing new plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets, and other plumbing appliances as needed
Responding to service calls in a timely manner and communicating effectively with clients about plumbing issues and repair options
Performing routine maintenance checks on plumbing systems to identify and fix minor issues before they become major problems
Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards
Accurately documenting all work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job
Providing excellent customer service by explaining plumbing issues and offering repair solutions that meet the customer's needs
Operating plumbing tools and equipment safely and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Performing emergency plumbing services, including after-hours calls when required
Keeping up to date with the latest plumbing technology and techniques through continued education
Managing and measuring the work of an Apprentice on the job. Assisting with additional training as necessary
Maintaining an organized truck, adequate truck stock, and tools
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
3 years of plumbing experience in a residential service and maintenance operation
Knowledge of plumbing codes
In-home sales experience a plus
Strong customer service and communication skills
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Ability to work extended hours, nights, or weekends and on call
Ability to lift, push and pull 50-75 lb. Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
Able to operate power tools and handle potentially hazardous chemicals and materials safely
Able to climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate tight spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
