Job Overview:
As a Swim Instructor, you will foster a safe and  engaging swimming environment for our residents and guests. Your role is crucial in developing swimming skills, ensuring safety, and promoting sportsmanship among participants. This position requires a personable approach and a passion for aquatic sports.
 
Compensation: $15.15 per hour
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
 
Your Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in planning and execution of regular community-wide signature events and family-friendly activities
  • Design and implement training programs tailored to swimmer’s needs across various skill levels
  • Conduct practice sessions and provide technique instruction and motivational support
  • Enforce pool safety standards and competition rules, ensuring a secure environment
  • Respond to swimmer and parent inquiries, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Manage swim meet preparations and coordinate event participation

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to coach and mentor swimmers with a positive, motivating presence
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong relationships
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • High standard of customer service and a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
 Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience in coaching swimming at any level (required)
  • Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (required)
 Physical Requirements:
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions-
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as bending, lifting, and swimming
  • Comfortable in and around water, adhering to all safety protocols
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Work Location: Surprise, AZ
Work Hours: M-W-F : Shifts vary as needed
