SWC neXus Business Development Manager - K-12Position Overview

This role will serve as a Business Development Manager for SWC neXus and other K-12 education market integrated security solutions. This role is centered on trusted advisory, thought leadership, and strategic partnership, rather than traditional sales execution. The individual will act as a bridge between school district leadership and innovative safety solutions, helping education leaders navigate complex challenges in school safety, crisis management, and operational readiness.

Leveraging deep experience in district leadership, the ideal candidate will guide conversations, shape perspectives, and support informed decision-making as districts explore next-generation Security Orchestration Platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory to School Districts

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to district leadership on school safety, emergency preparedness, and operational resilience
  • Engage Superintendents, School District Leadership, and Boards of Education in high-level discussions
  • Help districts frame challenges, evaluate options, and define practical pathways forward

Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement

  • Represent neXus as a voice of credibility at industry conferences, forums, and school safety events
  • Lead discussions on crisis management, best practices, and emerging trends in K-12 safety
  • Contribute to webinars, podcasts, publications, and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Market Insight & Solution Shaping

  • Bring field-based perspective to inform product development and innovation priorities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure solutions reflect the realities of district operations
  • Identify evolving needs across the K-12 landscape and help shape strategic direction
  • Create webinars and host a regular podcast leveraging network of experts who have broad perspectives on challenges in school safety

Relationship Stewardship

  • Cultivate and maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with district leaders and stakeholders
  • Leverage an established professional network to expand dialogue and engagement opportunities
  • Act as a consistent, trusted presence within the K-12 community

Qualifications

Required

  • Former Superintendent or senior K-12 district leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in school safety, crisis planning, and district operations
  • Established and active network within the K-12 education community
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at the executive level

Preferred

  • Familiarity with school safety technologies or integrated security platforms
  • Experience with public-sector decision-making and procurement processes
  • Background in public speaking, facilitation, or thought leadership

Travel Requirements

Approximately 25-40% travel, including leadership meetings, conferences, and district engagements.
