Description South College is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team as an Adjunct Clinical and Laboratory Instructor in the surgical technology program. This on-ground position is integral to student success, ensuring high-quality clinical experiences while supporting instruction in the laboratory.
Responsibilities • The adjunct (part-time) faculty member should respond, in a timely manner, to specific and general information requests or questions from the ST program director, prospective employers, clinical sites, and students, as appropriate. • At all times, promote appropriate standards of the CST profession in both actions and in communication. • Ensure that all academic program requirements and forms of documentation (e.g., clinical evaluations, competency documentation) are completed as required for each student and submitted per established deadlines. • Visit the clinical affiliate sites and evaluate the surgical technology students on their skill performances. • Assist with instruction and assist with evaluations of the surgical technology students in Laboratory activities.
Requirements Education • Bachelor's degree preferred. • A graduate of a Surgical Technology program that is nationally recognized and has programmatic accreditation by an accrediting agency (CAAHEP or ABHES). • Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Experience • A minimum of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years. • Strong communication skills. • Prior teaching experience and/or practical/clinical experience in Surgical Technology. • Licensure Documentation of CST certification is required.
