With atemperate coastal rainforest Ketchikan is much milder than most Alaska locations and offers wonderful outdoor adventures.We offer youA wage range of 39.54 - 59.28.Relocation AssistanceHiring BonusA comprehensive benefits packageA caring and compassionate cultureJob SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the operative patient. Essential FunctionsArrange and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team.Understand and apply the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.Assist in preparation and moving of patients.Cleans disinfects and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.Access computer information as needed such as preference lists and digital images.Participates in all safety initiatives. Adheres to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducationAccredited Program Preferred Surgical Technology or recognized course of training as a Surgical Technologist ExperiencePreferred 1-year experience as a surgical technologist in a full-service operating roomRequired Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patients needs. CredentialsRequired Upon Hire Basic Life Support CertificationPreferred Certified Surgical Technologist SkillsWell organized detail oriented and self motivated RequiredAbility to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others RequiredAbility to execute detailed procedures with accuracy and precision RequiredBasic computerkeyboarding skills including MS Office applications RequiredUnderstanding of operating room protocols Required Working ConditionsLiftingPatient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment andor devices NIOSH.Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.Frequent reaching bending squatting kneeling grasping.LiftCarry Frequently up to 15 lbs.
