Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday
As a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech), you will assist in preparing patients and procedure rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready. You will maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during procedures by passing instruments, and help with patient positioning and transfers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma
Valid BLS Certification
Surgical technologist / Scrub Tech experience: 2 years
ARRT // CST Certification (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
Ensures effective communication with physicians
Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes
Skills:
Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
Working knowledge of interventional equipment
Working conditions:
Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and assist in patient transfers up to 400 pounds. Standing in a protective apron for 60-90 minutes is required. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities are available.
