Job Title: Surgical Technologist (CST) – OR General
Location: Falmouth, MA 02540
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Schedule & Shift

  • Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (40 hours/week)
  • Rotating Shifts: 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM | 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Monday – Friday
  • Rotating weekends required
  • Weekday call and holiday call required

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical services within a fast-paced acute care operating room environment. This role is responsible for assisting surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring optimal patient safety and care standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the operating room with surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies
  • Maintain sterile technique in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards
  • Perform scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties
  • Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures
  • Assist with retractors, suturing materials, and surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments)
  • Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and instrumentation
  • Prepare, handle, and transport surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Assist with patient positioning, transport, and intraoperative support
  • Support application of surgical dressings and postoperative activities
  • Operate sterilization equipment and follow sterilization protocols
  • Prepare and label medications under supervision of the RN and surgeon
  • Assist in patient transfer to recovery areas
  • Support OR turnover, cleaning, and restocking between procedures
  • Maintain patient safety, privacy, and dignity at all times
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (civilian or military)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA (active and in good standing)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Orthopedic (Ortho) surgical experience
  • Experience in a multi-specialty operating room environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Certifications Required

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
