-Prepare and organize the operating room with the appropriate surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile drapes prior to each procedure.
-Verify the availability and functionality of surgical equipment, instruments, implants, and specialty devices before the start of surgery.
-Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout all surgical procedures in accordance with AORN standards and facility policies.
-Perform surgical hand scrubbing, gowning, and gloving using aseptic technique.
-Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, medications, and supplies efficiently during procedures.
-Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and transfer to and from the operating table while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care by assisting surgeons, registered nurses, and other members of the surgical team during operative procedures. The Surgical Technician/Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, handling surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical procedure.
