Surgical Technician (1 of 3)

Job Title: Surgical Technician

Shift Hours:

• 3x12s: 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Call Schedule: Once per week and every 6th weekend

Schedule Notes:

• 13-week contract length with potential to extend
• REQUIRED: Minimum 1 year ST experience, BLS certification through AHA, current CST certification, previous travel experience, High School diploma or GED equivalent

Job Summary:

• Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for the handling or surgical instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during general surgical procedures
• Ensures understanding of assigned surgical procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the assigned surgical team
• Also provides service support related to patient preparation, patient transport, building services and assisting surgical care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs
• Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures

Required Skills & Experience:

• Must have at least 1+ years of strong recent ST experience
• Previous Travel Experience

Required Education:

• HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:

• Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program preferred (not required)

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required
• BLS - AHA
• CST (Certified Surginal Technician)
