Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll be a vital part of a highly-skilled team that shares in your passion for cardiac surgery. What you will do in this role:

· The Cardiac Services Technician provides technical services, assists in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room while providing care for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.

· The Cardiac Services Technician works collaboratively to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments.

· Works under the direct supervision of the assigned clinician for the case, and the Director, to facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures.

· Performs advanced tasks routinely in support of the surgical team.

· Arranges sterile setup for surgical procedures, pass instruments, as well as, sponge and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.

· Prepares sterile supplies, assist in cleanup of the operating room, checks placement and the operation of equipment, and checks and restocks the operating room after each procedure.

What qualifications you will need:

· 2-3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting

· Lead CST experience is highly preferred.

· Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.

· Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.

· American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification required.
