Shift Time: Day (06:00 - 14:30) / Mid (14:00 - 22:30)
Hours: 40 Hours Weekly
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Surgical Support Aide to assist the Surgical Services department in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient perioperative environment. The ideal candidate will support surgical teams by ensuring operating rooms are properly prepared, stocked, and maintained while assisting with patient transport and departmental workflow.
This position requires strong teamwork, organization, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and turnover of operating rooms between surgical procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of surgical and perioperative areas
- Transport patients safely to and from surgical departments as needed
- Stock and replenish surgical supplies, linens, and equipment
- Assist staff with movement and setup of equipment and patient care items
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
- Support surgical team workflow to maintain efficient department operations
- Dispose of biohazard materials and contaminated supplies according to facility guidelines
- Assist with maintaining inventory and supply management
- Perform additional support duties as assigned within the Surgical Services department
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in hospital support services, surgical services, environmental services, or patient transport preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow infection control and patient safety procedures
- Ability to lift, transport, and move equipment and supplies as required
