Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and maintaining surgical schedules for the practice. Coordinates with hospitals to arrange for patient pre-op testing, medical clearances. Responsible for triaging phone calls appropriately and maintaining the Physician’s weekly schedule, including coordinating academic meetings and travel arrangements.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintains surgical schedules for the practice. Obtains authorizations when needed.
  • Coordinates with hospitals to schedule and arrange all patient pre-op testing, medical clearances, etc.
  • Triages patient phone calls appropriately for office visits, tests, surgeries, and other encounters.
  • Prepares patients’ charts and files related patient records.
  • Contact and confirm dates and time of procedures with patients.
  • Maintains Physician’s weekly schedule. Coordinates academic meetings, including travel arrangements.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of six months job related experience or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to deal with and maintain confidential information.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to calculate and collect cash transactions.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills and ability to deal effectively with staff, physicians and patients in a courteous manner.
