Job Description:

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Assists in preparing the operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment. Transports patients to and from the operating room and assists with positioning them on the operating table. Ensures the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. Maintains a clean and safe environment in the surgical suite. Provides support to the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs. Assists with room turnover between surgeries, including cleaning and restocking supplies. Troubleshoots and maintains operating room equipment to ensure proper functioning. Orders replacement parts and maintains accurate inventory of supplies required for OR-specific equipment. Communicates changes and needs in equipment and supplies while anticipating the next case needs. Utilizes and educates on safety measures in handling OR equipment, gas cylinders, and electrical lines. Participates in the orientation and education of new staff regarding cleaning the OR environment and equipment. Provides input into capital budget related to equipment and new supply trials and conversions. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read and write the English language [Required]

Education:

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

  • 5+ experience as a surgical assistant [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS [Required]
