We are looking for:Surgery Veterinary Technician

Proposed Schedule: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday 1st shift, with on call services

Our Surgery team is a fast-paced environment, perfect fortechnicians that are looking for training in multiplefacetsof the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requiresstrong communicationskillstoliaison between surgeons and clients and deliverpost-operative careinstructions.

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage appointments,obtainpatienthistories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges,etc

  • Fill medications, enter charges andmaintainaccuratemedical records, schedule appointments

  • Create patient releases, navigate client conversations around treatment plans and financial obligations

  • Prep patientsfor surgery, including shaving,scrubbingand positioning,assistwith intubation and radiographs

  • Proficiently perform blooddrawsandsubmitbloodwork

  • Ensure documentation isaccurateand complete

  • Opening, turning over and cleaning operating rooms, as well as cleaning instruments and wrapping packs

Who are you: 

  • State Registered Veterinary Technician licensepreferred

  • Prior veterinary experience,previoussurgeryexperience desired

  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)

  • Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
