Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator

PGS Worldwide is seeking an SMT Operator in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The SMT Operator will support electronics manufacturing by working with surface mount technology processes, electronic schematics, Mil-Spec requirements, AOI inspection, and visual defect identification. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read technical documentation, and comfort working in a production environment.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and understand Mil-Specifications.
• Ability to read and understand electronic schematics.
• AOI inspection experience.
• Visual defect identification experience.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to take and pass a required medical exam.

Preferred Skills

• SMT knowledge.
• Experience with surface mount technology operations.
• Experience with electronics manufacturing, PCB inspection, circuit board inspection, visual inspection, AOI systems, defect detection, Mil-Spec documentation, schematics, production quality, and manufacturing inspection.

What You’ll Do

• Support surface mount technology production operations.
• Read and interpret Mil-Specifications and electronic schematics.
• Perform AOI inspection and visual defect identification.
• Inspect electronic assemblies and circuit boards for quality issues.
• Identify defects and support production quality requirements.
• Follow manufacturing documentation, procedures, and inspection standards.
• Support electronics production work in accordance with quality and process requirements.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Monday–Thursday.
• 5:00 AM–3:30 PM EST.

Pay

• $22.00–$24.00/hour
