Duties

Mahomet-Seymour Junior High is currently hiring for a Support Services Teacher to provide targeted instructional and behavioral supports to students requiring additional academic, social-emotional, and/or behavioral interventions. This position collaborates with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement evidence-based interventions that promote student achievement and well-being. This is a full-time position that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals and objectives.
  • Implement and monitor behavioral intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and problem-solving teams to support student needs.
  • Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives.
  • Communicate student progress with staff and parents/guardians.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and protect the confidentiality of student information.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS-1 certification is required.
  • Applicants must be willing to be trained in crisis prevention and able to pass a physical ability test
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Please see the attached current 2025-2026 Salary Schedule (our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year).
