Job Responsibilities
Assists with issuing parts, equipment, and supplies, and assists with maintaining detailed inventory records of supplies and equipment on hand. Operates two-way radio relaying and receiving messages from road crews to Repair Shop staff. Assists with posting mechanic parts and labor on job sheets. Performs duties associated with central warehousing, distribution, and service-oriented operations when assigned by supervisor. Assists in coordinating the receiving, storage, and disposal of obsolete, junked, and unserviceable property. Unloads vehicles delivering property to the county Supply Depot and organizes property for inspection by the Surplus Property Office. Assists in loading property for transport. Assists with special requested services such as office furniture moves, package pickups and deliveries, and transporting other various types of materials from one location to another. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.
