Position Summary: 

The Supply Chain Specialist position is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company's needs for materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and production materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost, quality, and delivery competitive levels consistent with the open market. The position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Due to the nature of this position onsite regular attendance is required.
  • Manage all aspects of the commodities and part numbers assigned to agent’s buyer code.
  • Follow MRP reports and place purchase orders to stay ahead of lead times.
  • Manage lead times on components so the system accurately reflects market conditions.
  • Confirm all delivery dates on purchase orders and keep Acumatica updated with vendor commitments.
  • Manage move out/move in reports as needed. Contact suppliers regularly to better their commitments.
  • Manage transportation costs and minimize, when possible, only shipping premium when product is critical for production.
  • Support drops in material requirements due to customer requests, inventory discrepancies, and work order needs.
  • Work A/P Variance Reports to resolve discrepancies between invoice and purchase order.
  • Manage Discrepancy Reports (DR’s) to cycle defective inventory back to the suppliers for repair, credit, or replacement.
  • Manage standard costs for all parts listed on agent’s buyer code. At end of each year, work through each part so standard is accurately set to the current price of the part.
  • Support Quotefx and other requests for quote for new business.
  • Review bid proposals and support supplier selection on new and existing business.
  • Maintain a solid business relationship with key suppliers to assure we are receiving the most competitive pricing, terms, MOQ’s and lead times.
  • Maintain connectivity with market conditions and new suppliers, technologies and purchasing practices as a check and balance to Dynalab current practices.
  • Maintain open communication with other departments and divisions of Dynalab to resolve material problems.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
