Supply Chain Manager is responsible for end-to-end ownership of demand planning, master scheduling, operational and tactical purchasing, and supply chain analytics to ensure the business manufactures at the correct pace. This role serves as the analytical and decision- making leader for production planning, translating SAP and operational data into actionable plans, clear tradeoffs, and executive-level reporting.

This position partners closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Logistics to balance demand, capacity, inventory, and service levels. The role owns production planning and operational purchasing execution and performance while coordinating—but not owning— outbound logistics activities. This role also plays a key role in enabling future-state systems and processes, including ERP migration, advanced planning tools, and operational digitization initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Translate sales forecasts, customer demand, and incoming order volume into a time-phased, executable production plan
  • Serve as the pace-setting authority for manufacturing by balancing demand, capacity,
  • material availability, and inventory targets
  • Own supply chain analytics and reporting, including SAP data extraction, Power BI dashboards, KPI development, and executive reporting cadence
  • Act as the single source of truth for demand, capacity, schedule performance, inventory, and on-time delivery metrics
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify risk, challenge assumptions, and drive fact-based decision making
  • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities, including demand review, capacity planning, and constraint management
  • Establish, monitor, and improve forecast accuracy and planning performance metrics
  • Integrate sales orders with the master production schedule; manage schedule changes and communicate impacts proactively
  • Determine available capacity prior to releasing planned orders
  • Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling using Theory of Constraints (TOC)
  • Own purchasing execution, including material availability, and risk mitigation
  • Lead and develop production planning and purchasing team members
  • Coordinate closely with the Logistics Manager to align production schedules and material readiness without ownership of shipping execution
  • Support and actively participate in the upcoming SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration for areas within scope
  • Support evaluation and implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Advanced Planning Systems (APS), and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) tools
  • Define and adjust the purchasing and planning organizational model, including where combined buyer/planner roles make sense
  • Partner with Operations to level-load production, reduce inventory, and improve efficiency Assemble and present supply chain performance reporting relative to business and production plans
  • Identify and implement best practices in MRP and planning governance
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA safety requirements
