Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Supply Chain Manager in Houma, Louisiana.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the development and management of the OSI-Houma Consolidated vendor base. This position ensures the entire supply chain maintains on time products while specifications and requirements are met at competitive pricing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overall supervision of purchasing and logistics through department supervisors.
- Locate and develop both domestic and international suppliers to support OSI’s product lines.
- Review all existing processes that are impacted by procurement and improve communications with the vendor base and also within OSI.
- Work with quality to develop metrics for current suppliers.
- Manage the performance of the vendor base using key performance indicators.
- Establish a method to track the cost to expedite materials, services, and freight and provide recommendations that would reduce cost.
- Meet with buyers, manufacturing, and project management to understand issues and problems with suppliers. Assist buyers in resolving issues with suppliers.
- Works with other departments to ensure compliance with all import/export laws and regulations.
- Develop standard agreements/contracts with key suppliers (i.e. Master Service Agreements).
- Ensure all buyers are trained on all changes and aware of all process improvements.
- Along with sales, engineering, project management is responsible for strategies for potential orders and projects and to develop more efficient products.
- Works with other OSI divisions in developing cost saving initiatives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a working environment that actively develops and encourages employees to achieve their maximum potential and overcome deficiencies through education and on-the-job training.
- Promote teamwork and distribute work among subordinates to ensure achievement of group objectives within expected time frame.
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience purchasing, supply chain or related field
- Experience effectively managing a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills, good computer skills (MS Office, ERP system, etc.).
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
