Overview

The Surface Supply Chain organization is responsible for delivering the right products to customers at the right time, cost, and quality supporting a Global, highly complex hardware portfolio. We partner closely across Product, Finance, and Sales & Marketing to plan, build, and deliver Surface devices through demand planning, supply execution, materials management, and logistics.

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and supporting end-to-end supply chain operations through data-driven insights, operational reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. This role operates at the intersection of operations execution and data analytics - transforming raw supply chain data into actionable intelligence that drives better decision-making across demand planning, supply allocation, materials management, logistics, and inventory operations.

The Supply Chain Analyst partners closely with supply chain leads, materials, and customer operations teams to identify inefficiencies, surface risks, build scalable reporting frameworks, and support scenario-based planning that enables resilient and efficient supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards, KPI scorecards, and analytical models to monitor supply chain health across demand, supply, inventory, and fulfillment.
  • Analyze demand-supply gaps, allocation shortfalls, and materials constraints to provide timely, insight-driven recommendations to planning and operations teams.
  • Support scenario modeling and what-if analysis for planning cycles, including CFO targets, demand/supply plan of records, material supportability reconciliation.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (planning, sourcing, materials, finance) to translate business questions into structured analytical frameworks.
  • Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in supply chain data; proactively surface risks and opportunities before they impact operations.
  • Automate recurring reports and data pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the design and adoption of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling, AI-assisted forecasting, and optimization tools within supply chain workflows.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by quantifying operational inefficiencies and recommending data-backed solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across supply chain systems, serving as a steward for key operational datasets.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, material requirement planning systems and tools or related experience.
  • OR Masters Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, material requirement planning systems and tools or related experience.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Solid proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Python/R) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of supply chain fundamentals, and proven experience designing or transforming processes, systems, and data architectures at scale.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools to analyze complex datasets and translate ambiguous business problems into structured insights, clear recommendations, and scalable solutions.
  • Solid analytical and systems thinking, with the ability to connect strategy, process, data, and technology to drive measurable business impact.

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600.00 - $188,400.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000.00 - $206,400.00 per year.
