OverviewThe Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for leading high-impact projects and ensuring accountability for key timelines and milestones. This role drives supplier quality, process and product development, and continuous improvement initiatives to support high-volume manufacturing (HVM).Key Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional teams—including business development, engineering, manufacturing, process engineering, field service, and suppliers—through new product development and production release
- Own and drive supplier-related projects, including supplier selection, qualification, and performance improvement
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to define issues, assess risks, analyze data, and deliver actionable recommendations
- Coordinate development activities across suppliers and internal product teams
- Implement industry-standard process control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) to improve production efficiency and product quality
- Drive continuous improvement programs (CIP) to increase first-pass yield and reduce contamination levels in manufacturing processes
- Design and conduct experiments and validation tests to support process and product development
- Serve as the primary quality advocate for assigned products across internal organizations
Required Skills & Qualifications- Strong foundation in surface treatment processes, including precision cleaning and contamination control
- Solid project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of:
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D, and 5 Whys methodologies
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and statistical tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting and presentations
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or advanced degree preferred
- Experience in surface treatments and/or precision cleaning within high-volume manufacturing environments (e.g., semiconductor, MEMS, PCB) is strongly preferred
