Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or thermal-related equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the thermal technology and manufacturing process.
  • 5 years of experience in quality/reliability and thermal technology.
  • Experience in statistical product quality control, process capability, reliability, failure analysis, and process improvement.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certification in Quality (CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA).
  • 5 years of experience overseeing yield improvements and cycle time reductions for high volume and high complexity parts.

Google Cloud is building the future of cloud computing, and at its core lies a global infrastructure that requires unparalleled quality and reliability. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our thermal hardware solutions.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer working on Thermal solutions, you lead suppliers from quality and reliability perspectives while collaborating with Hardware Designers, Commodity Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Data Center teams. You set and manage component quality and reliability, drive supplier factory certification audits, and lead component and manufacturing site qualifications. You will actively manage sustaining quality, drive continuous improvements, and ensure lessons learned are mitigated with suppliers and partner teams. You drive true root cause failure analysis and ensure systemic corrective actions with comprehensive preventative actions. You extract and analyze data from supplier facilities, Google production lines, and our data centers to verify performance and drive improvements.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hardware design, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams to develop and deploy Supplier Quality Engineering best practices throughout the product life-cycle, from concept to deployment and end-of-life.
  • Influence product roadmaps and architectural decisions by providing data-driven insights on hardware quality, reliability.
  • Represent Supplier Quality Engineering in executive reviews, cross-functional forums, and direct supplier leadership engagements.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers ensuring Google is protected from a Quality and Reliability perspective.
  • Establish quality programs and process controls in suppliers for early issue detection and prevent quality/reliability escapes from reaching Google.
