Your Primary ResponsibilitiesDrive supplier quality performance for new product introduction and sustaining productionEnsure supplier compliance with internal, contractual, customer, and regulatory requirementsEstablish and lead scheduled supplier quality audits to verify QMS effectivenessBuild and maintain effective professional relationships with suppliersPromote supplier quality improvement initiatives and corrective action effectivenessSupport procurement with Approved Supplier List (ASL) maintenance, supplier qualification, and re‑qualificationParticipate in supplier readiness reviews for new programsReview and approve supplier change requests (process, material, tooling, location, sub‑tier)Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, flow‑downs, and purchase order requirementsPerform and evaluate supplier First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102Validate supplier manufacturing capability through audits, desk reviews, and on‑site process walksProactively identify and communicate risks, gaps, and nonconformances prior to releaseAssess internal impact of supplier issues through stock and WIP reviewManage supplier‑related nonconformances through the Material Review Board (MRB) to prevent production or delivery impactEstablish and monitor testing, acceptance criteria, and receiving inspection plans to ensure only conforming product is releasedEnsure supplier compliance with special process requirements (e.g., heat treat, NDT, plating)Lead root cause and corrective action investigations with suppliers using 8D, DMAIC, or equivalent methodologies and verify effectivenessMonitor, analyze, and report supplier performance metrics (e.g., nonconformances, responsiveness, closure timeliness)Use performance metrics to support scorecard activities with procurementLeverage supplier performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunitiesCollaborate with procurement on supplier risk management and mitigation strategiesCommunicate supplier quality concerns using objective evidence and data‑driven analysisInterface with regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA, DCMA) as required to support quality interpretationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred fields: Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace) or related technical degree + relevant experience5+ years of experience in quality engineering or supplier qualityExperience in a highly regulated or quality‑driven environmentRoot cause analysis & corrective action: 8D, RCCA, CAPASupplier quality processes: Supplier audits, supplier corrective actions (SCARs)Quality systems: ISO 9001 required, AS9100 strongly preferredEngineering drawings & specificationsExperience using data to drive decisionsWorking knowledge of: SPC (Statistical Process Control), Process capability (Cp/Cpk)Strong proficiency in Excel or similar toolsAbility to work cross‑functionally (engineering, supply chain, operations)Ability to communicate issues and drive resolution with suppliersComfortable in a role that requires influence without authorityMust be authorized to work in the U.S. (US Person or non‑US person eligible for export authorization)The wage/salary range for this role is $95k – $125k, depending on education and experience.
