JOB TITLE: Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical LV System
LOCATION: Onsite in Hayward, CA
PAY RANGE: $58 - $68/hr.
DURATION: 6 Months

TOP 3 SKILLS:
  • 2 4 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing within automotive, aviation, or medical device industries, with exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) and quality system development
  • Experience with manufacturing and supplier processes such as PCB/PCBA, wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical/electrical components, including supplier quality issue resolution
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving and quality tools (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, DOE, Pareto, Fishbone) and working knowledge of ISO 9000 / IATF 16949 quality systems

Job Description:
The Supplier Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring world-class performance of the prototype and production supply base, and drive continuous improvement. Candidates with experience in working knowledge of vehicle harness manufacturing, Wire harness diagram and, EDI, and IPC620 will be highly preferred

Responsibilities:
  • Liaise between SQ, IQC, Engineering, and Supplier on key quality issues
  • Review the Root cause analysis and help provide technical support if needed
  • Provide on-site support to validate the implementation of containments & corrective actions
  • Assess the new/late product designs changes and to provide remote support to SQ & VSE to help certify the implementation
  • Ensure continuous flow of information in both directions -To SQ on all quality issues and share critical requirements to supplier
  • Review prototype and production part quality document submissions from suppliers, and provide feedback
  • Develop prototype Control Plan and PFMEA, perform regular audits, and drive gap closures
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools
  • Improve supplier quality processes, such as assessments, supplier management, part approval, and corrective actions

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing, in the automotive, aviation, or medical device industries
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) - Experience creating and improving quality systems
  • Experience using problem-solving techniques such as Six-Sigma, 8-Discipline, Pareto Charts, Regression Analysis, ANOVA, DOE, Fish Bone Analysis, Red-X, Is / Is Not
  • Experience using quality analysis and control tools such as Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, Process Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Process Capability
  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as Experience in manufacturing processes such as PCB/PCBA, Wiring harnesses, Electro-mechanical assemblies, and Electrical components
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Working knowledge of Quality Systems such as ISO 9000 and IATF 16949 - Certifications such as ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Fully literate in Microsoft computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
