Shape supplier excellence and flawless launches as our Supplier Quality and PPAP Engineer

At Molded Dimensions Group in Port Washington, WI, you’ll convert complex customer requirements into rock‑solid quality outcomes for rubber, urethane, and plastic components used across marine, medical, automotive, trucking, and mining markets. Your day begins with a clear plan: advance critical PPAP/ISIR submissions, mentor Quality Technicians on measurement strategy, and translate data trends into actions that delight customers.

What a typical day looks like

You’ll kick off by collaborating with our Engineering Project Manager and Quality Technicians to assemble and validate PPAP packages for global distribution. You’ll review APQP elements, confirm Part Submission Warrants (PSW) are complete, and verify PFMEA, Control Plan, Material Certifications, Dimensional Reports, and Gage R&R studies meet exact customer requirements. Throughout the day, you’ll interpret drawings with GD&T, select practical inspection methods, and oversee measurement—from durometers to our dual vision systems—ensuring capability, repeatability, and accurate dimensional data. When nonconformances arise, you’ll consult with the Project Manager, Engineering, and the Quality Manager, then communicate findings, approvals, and customer feedback promptly.

Your impact and responsibilities

  • Own PPAP/ISIR delivery: prepare complete, compliant submissions and align expectations with customers, domestic and international.
  • Guide inspection execution: determine appropriate methods and equipment; mentor technicians; facilitate additional testing when required.
  • Lead and develop Quality Assurance Technicians; interpret and act on data they gather.
  • Serve as ISO Coordinator: plan and complete internal audits, lead third‑party registrar audits, manage corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS. Coordinate and train internal auditors.
  • Engage in Supplier Quality Engineering opportunities, partnering with suppliers to elevate incoming quality.
  • Lead or support cross‑functional root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Own Quality Lab Vision Systems (2): act as lead operator, mentor users, and ensure maintenance and capability.
  • Support RGAs, customer complaints, and corrective actions to resolution.
  • Initiate and oversee SPC per customer requirements; turn trends into process improvements.
  • Establish inspection and test methods for receiving inserts and in‑process/manufacturing checks.
  • Represent Quality in New Products and New Product Review meetings; help launch right‑first‑time.
  • Train quality personnel and stakeholders on customer expectations, inspection techniques, proper gage usage, and blueprint reading.
  • Audit operator adherence to procedures and work instructions; assist in customer audits.
  • Back up the Quality Manager and support the QA team as needed; perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications that set you up for success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field with 3+ years in Quality Assurance; or an Associate degree in Quality with 7+ years in manufacturing QA.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, internal auditing, and third‑party registrar audits.
  • Hands‑on experience with PPAP documentation, SPC, control plans, and Gage R&R and other essential quality tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (including GD&T), define inspection strategies, and use measuring equipment, including a vision system.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel emphasized); high attention to detail.
  • Preferred: Green Belt or Black Belt; supervisory experience.
