Shape Quality Excellence From Supplier to Customer

Partner closely with our Quality Manager to ensure every concern is resolved decisively and our Quality Management System (QMS) consistently aligns with customer expectations, internal standards, ISO/TS 16949, and all applicable regulations. As our Supplier Quality and IATF Compliance Engineer, you will be the connective tissue between customers, suppliers, and production—owning root cause analysis, corrective actions, and rigorous audits that keep our operations world-class.

A Day in the Role

Morning: Review overnight customer and supplier communications, triage any reported concerns, and kick off 8D or Why/Why problem-solving with cross-functional partners. Align with the Quality Manager on priorities.

Midday: Lead root cause discovery on internal, customer, or supplier issues. Use Honda 5P, 8D, and Why/Why methodologies to document causes and countermeasures. Support Department Managers and production team members on the floor.

Afternoon: Conduct internal or supplier audits per IATF 16949; assess process and product capability for validation; prepare and send monthly supplier performance reports; strengthen supplier relationships by clarifying customer needs and expectations.

Tools You’ll Use Daily: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; precision metrology including calipers and micrometers.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary communicator with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Lead and manage root cause analysis and countermeasures for all recognized issues.
  • Plan and execute internal and supplier audits aligned with IATF 16949 standards.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear supplier expectations to build strong partnerships.
  • Generate monthly supplier performance reports for qualified suppliers.
  • Run process and product capability studies for product validation.
  • Provide day-to-day support to Department Managers and production personnel.
  • Document actions using 8D, Honda 5P, and Why/Why Analysis per customer requests.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience as a Customer or Supplier Quality Engineer with direct customer interaction.
  • Advanced root cause analysis skills and problem-solving approaches to uncover true causes.
  • Hands-on with CAPA as a structured improvement method to reduce nonconformities and adverse conditions.
  • Confidence making sound decisions amid ambiguity; able to influence outcomes.
  • Strong computer proficiency on Microsoft platforms; daily use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel; excellent typing.
  • Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and related measurement tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in bolt manufacturing processes such as heading, threading, heat treat, and plating.
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits to ISO/TS and preferably IATF 16949.
