Supplier Information Analyst – Supplier Master Data Management

Location: Birmingham, AL. Contract- 1 Year Client- Alabama Power

Job Summary:

The Supplier Information Analyst is responsible for supporting the Supplier Information and Process Solutions (SIPS) team in managing the supplier master database of over 50,000 records. This role ensures accurate supplier information to support the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process by analyzing, researching, and processing supplier add/change/inactivation requests across the enterprise. The position operates in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, handling confidential data and ensuring strict adherence to compliance, audit, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and process high volumes of supplier data requests to add, modify, or inactivate supplier records across the system.
  • Conduct research and due diligence to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the integrity of the supplier master data to support enterprise-wide purchasing and payment processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external suppliers, providing customer-oriented support for supplier information inquiries and issues.
  • Ensure data updates comply with auditing controls, regulatory standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Monitor and track open items, follow up on incomplete requests, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier onboarding and maintenance processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist in generating reports or audit documentation as needed.
  • Adapt to changes in responsibilities or processes to meet evolving team and business needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5–10 years of related experience in supplier data management, procurement operations, finance, or a similar role.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Customer service orientation and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a production-driven environment.

  • Strong time management and adaptability to shifting priorities.

  • Experience maintaining confidential and sensitive data with integrity and discretion.
