Job Title: Boys & Girls Tennis Head Coach School: SOUTH BROWARD HIGH Location: HOLLYWOOD, FL 33020 Req Id: 20759 Posting Closing Date: Open Until Filled School Year: 2025-2026

Position Goal

The Head Coach is responsible for leading the boys and girls tennis teams to achieve success and excellence in the sport.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective coaching strategies to improve team performance
• Foster a positive and supportive team environment
• Provide individualized coaching and guidance to players
• Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the sport
• Maintain accurate records and reports of team progress

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any General Education Development (GED) Testing Program
• Florida State Statute mandates that all high school coaches hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate
• Applicants who do not hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate will be required to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education
• Knowledge of the sport and the ability to impart this knowledge

Assistant Coach Minimum Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program
• Shall have a knowledge of the activity and be able to impart this knowledge to the participants
• Computer skills as required for the position

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Significant contacts in the tennis community
• Experience in coaching or playing tennis

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Terms of Employment

• Temporary position
• Nonexempt classification
• Hourly rate information available upon request

Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with students of varying skill levels
• Knowledge of tennis rules and regulations

Certifications

• Valid Florida Educator Certificate (required for Head Coach position)
• Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education (required for Assistant Coach position)
