As a Supervisory Government Securities Specialist you will:

  • Develop Branch goals and objectives independently or jointly with higher management with the intent to monitor progress toward achieving those goals.
  • Provide advice to the Director on changes to and schedules for programs or major projects.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by the branch and sets priorities as well as deadlines for its completion.
  • Monitor key/critical positions and actively participate in succession planning for the Division and the Office as input into the Bureau workforce plan.
  • Gather data from various sources; monitor data to spot and track trends; identify problems and resolve or recommend solutions to issues in service offering, customer accounts, or individuals.

  • This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into Continuous Vetting. Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout ones employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBIs Rap Back service which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector, or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience for the GS-14: you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  • Providing financial, technical, or policy analysis related to marketable securities or the underlying systems used for the issuance of Treasury securities. Such experience could include:
  • Analyzing and developing solutions to enhance organizational process and operational efficiencies dealing with financial operations; OR
  • Coordinating, leading, and prioritizing work for subordinate employees or a project team dealing with financial operations; OR
  • Experience in writing and in-person presenting technical findings to varied audiences, exchanging ideas, defending rationale, presenting recommendations, and negotiating solutions to sensitive issues related to financing and commercial book-entry matters.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) provides leadership and coordination and recommends policy for activities designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of the internal revenue laws. TIGTA also recommends policies to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in the programs and operations of the IRS and related entities. 
 
  
U.S. Mint 
The U.S. Mint designs and manufactures domestic, bullion and foreign coins as well as commemorative medals and other numismatic items. The Mint also distributes U.S. coins to the Federal Reserve banks as well as maintains physical custody and protection of our nation's silver and gold assets.
