Help

As a Supervisory General Engineer you will

Supervise personnel track and report to senior management the status of acquisition and implementation of new equipment processes and systems.

Provide technical leadership and managementor engineers in problem definition and solution using analytical quantitative and systematic problem-solving skills. This includes design of experiments and test plans to verify the problem solution.

Perform a full range of supervisory and managerial duties typical of first level supervisors in BEP.

Oversee a staff of General Electrical andor Mechanical Engineers.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-14 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position includes - Leading engineering teams on technical projects to meet tactical and strategic needs or leading interdisciplinary project teams AND - Solving product process or technology issues by applying structured problem solving techniques e.g. root-cause analysis.

Education

Education Requirements

The education generally must be from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.

A. Degree Engineering. To be acceptable the program must 1 lead to a bachelors degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET or 2 include differential and integral calculus and courses more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics a statics dynamics b strength of materials stress-strain relationships c fluid mechanics hydraulics d thermodynamics e electrical fields and circuits f nature and properties of materials relating particle and aggregate structure to properties and g any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics such as optics heat
